CRS supports Anti-Bullying Week by taking part in Odd Socks Day
Our CRS Portsmouth Office recently took part in Odd Socks Day and World Kindness Day to show our support towards Anti-Bullying Week.
Why we chose to support Anti-Bullying Week
This year, Anti-Bullying Week falls between Monday 13th to Friday 17th November and is a campaign that we’ve supported as a business for a number of years now. It is also a cause that a number of our team are incredibly passionate about and want to get behind.
In light of this, we have asked everyone in the Portsmouth office to come in wearing odd socks and to donate £1 to support the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
Additionally, we also invited everyone to share a thoughtful message with a colleague to brighten someone’s day in observance of World Kindness Day.
Compass Associates Divisional Manager Christian Hannam comments
“Bullying is a subject so many have been affected by – either themselves or someone close to them – and due to my own childhood experiences (and unfortunately those of my eldest daughter) I’m keen to engage this cause every year. For the past 2-3 years, I have been an advocate of supporting Anti-Bullying week and for the past couple of years we wore odd socks in conjunction with the Anti-Bullying Alliance as its both a fun / silly way to show that we can all stand together against bullies!!
The support and involvement I get from everyone in my family each year along with the wider team at Compass Recruitment Solutions (CRS) every year is fantastic and means so much!”
About Odd Socks Day
Anti-Bullying Week 2023 is coordinated in England, Wales and Northern Ireland by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This year it has the theme ‘Make A Noise About Bullying’ and will be kicked off with Odd Socks Day where adults and children wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Anti-Bullying Week gives us all a chance to highlight how often we are silent when we see bullying take place, silent about the hurt bullying causes, and silent when we hear bullying dismissed as ‘just banter’. It doesn’t have to be this way. We don’t have to like everyone and we don’t always agree, but we can choose respect and unity.
This Anti-Bullying Week is an opportunity to come together to have discussions about what bullying means to us, how banter can turn into something more hurtful, and what we can do to stop bullying. Together, we can make a difference and take a stand against bullying.
