CRS hosts Wellbeing Month 2024

February 13, 2024

With a new year upon us and the success of kicking off the new year over the past two years with our Wellbeing Month, we brought it back for 2024!

In 2022, CRS took the approach of introducing wellness initiatives throughout the business, which included moving our monthly run club to weekly (Twice weekly throughout January) and a step count challenge during January. Due to the popularity of this initiative over the last couple of years, CRS brought it back to kickstart 2024.

The challenge is completely optional and for anyone to take part in across the business. All we ask for is for anyone taking part to send in their weekly step count each week. Prizes were up for grabs for the top 3 participants, with 1st place being offered £100 voucher, 2nd place a £50 voucher and 3rd place a £25 voucher. All vouchers are for the winner’s health and wellbeing initiative.

Our weekly running club was also moved twice weekly throughout January for the third consecutive year. This proved incredibly popular once again to help boost people’s health kick with Christmas and New Year now long since past.

Overall, the Step Challenge saw participants from across the business collectively achieving a record-breaking 5.6 million steps! This completely smashed our previous record of 4 million steps and is equivalent to running 101 miles or climbing Ben Nevis 252 times!

The winner of the 2024 Step Challenge is…

  • In first place, we have Geri Stratieva, from our HR team, with an astonishing 482,641 steps!
  • Second place saw James Pryke, from our Marketing Design team, with 447,433 steps.
  • And in third place was Izzy Pearson, from our Marketing team, with 404,755  steps.

A huge congratulations to all three who smashed the previous record of 395,305!

We’d also like to thank everyone else who took part from across the business – it’s been fantastic to see another successful year with so many people taking part again.

The introduction of weekly yoga

The end of 2023, saw us trial the addition of weekly yoga sessions to our wellbeing inititatives. Despite the festive season, this proved incredibly popular and has only grown in popularity since the beginning of 2024.

A special thanks goes to our Design Manager, Laura Johnson, who is also a yoga instructor for providing her expertise on this.

CRS Recruitment & Development Advisor, Jess Gower, supervised the wellbeing incentive and comments on the outcome:

“It’s been amazing to see how many of you have got involved in January’s wellbeing activities and those who are carrying on with yoga and running now Wellness Month is over.

January’s wellness challenge was the ‘step challenge’ and 18 of us took part and collectively walked around 5,600,000 steps!! Which absolutely smashes our previous record of 4 million. Well done to everyone who was involved!”
